About Us

Paul and Pam began their work with the Maasai of Kenya, East Africa in 1987 working with CMF and a team of other missionaries already there. They were in language learning a year and a half and then moved to Olkoroi, their permanent ministry site. They began teaching lessons beginning in the Old Testament up through the New Testament focusing on the plan of salvation. The Maasai began to respond to the gospel, and churches were established.
After the initial evangelism was done and churches started, Paul began to train the prospective leaders. He continued this until their furlough in 1991.

On furlough they had a wonderful addition to their family, Angela Nicole Highfield. As they went back, Paul continued to focus on training the prospective leaders and continued further evangelism and church planting. They also helped meet some of the felt needs of the people by helping them build a clinic, church building, and purchase a grist mill.

They furloughed again in 1997. After this furlough they went back to continue their work focusing very specifically on training leaders and appointing them as elders and deacons. This goal was accomplished by the grace of God in three churches. During this term other development work was done. A water system to the clinic was put in, leaders were helped to be self- supporting through small businesses, and another church building was built.

The Highfields returned to the states in April of 2002 and in 2003 they started their new mission called Christian Restoration Ministries. They are located in Springfield, Missouri and have been taking two short-term trips a year back to Kenya for six years. Paul is focusing on writing Biblical materials in the Maasai language for the leaders including pastors, evangelists and youth workers. These materials are being published in the U.S. and Kenya and then distributed to the Maasai Christian leaders across Maasailand. Paul is working full time in this ministry.

As of April 2014 Paul has written 24 books in the Maasai language. He is now working on his next book, Spiritual Formation, and putting all the finished books into Kindle format. Paul and Pam’s next trip to Kenya is planned for the summer of 2014. Please keep the Highfield’s in your prayers. Paul and Pam have a strong conviction that God wants them to continue to work with the Maasai in this way as long as they are able. They feel this kind of ministry can have a far-reaching and positive influence on the growth of the Kingdom in Maasai land for years to come. While in the states, Paul and Pam also continue to enjoy ministering to the international students in Springfield, Missouri
